WEEI Partners with Arbella Insurance Foundation for the 11th Annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon set for this August 21st and 22nd at Fenway

BOSTON (April 19, 2012) – WEEI announces Arbella Insurance Foundation as a partner for the 11th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon set for August 21st and 22nd at Fenway Park.  The emotional two day event has become one of the biggest fundraisers of the Jimmy Fund’s year. In 2011, more than $3.4 million dollars were raised, bringing the ten year total to nearly $28 million dollars.

Donations are already underway, thanks to the Arbella Insurance Foundation, a proud partner of the event. This year, the Arbella Insurance Foundation will make the “Extra effort to drive out cancer” by donating $50 for every extra base hit by Red Sox batters, up to $50,000. The public can visit the Arbella Insurance tote board on WEEI.com/extra after every game to track the nightly total.

The 36-hour broadcast will feature truly compelling stories from Jimmy Fund patients and doctors, as well as celebrity guests from the sports and entertainment worlds. Numerous sports celebrities and Hollywood stars have supported the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon over the years including Mo Vaughn, John Valentin, Terry Francona, Joe Girardi, Tim Wakefield, Clay Buchholz, Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia, Jason Varitek, Jonathan Papelbon, Adrian Gonzalez, David Ortiz, Keegan Bradley, Maria Menounos, Dane Cook, Kelly Clarkson and more.
