WEEI SIGNS PETE SHEPPARD TO A MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT

SPORTS RADIO 850 WEEI-AM ANNOUNCES IT HAS SIGNED PETE SHEPPARD TO A MULTI- YEAR CONTRACT
 
BOSTON (May 3, 2007) Sports Radio 850 WEEI-AM today announced that it has signed Pete Sheppard to a new multi-year contact.  Sheppard currently serves as the sports anchor on “The Big Show with Glenn Ordway” in WEEI’s 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. slot.  Sheppard fills in as host of the show during vacation periods, and he is also the host of “The Real Postgame Show” with Fred Smerlas and Steve DeOssie following Patriots games.
 
“Pete has done a terrific job since he began with us back in 1995,” Jason Wolfe, Entercom Boston Vice President of AM Programming and Operations said. “He has grown tremendously as a broadcaster and a host and I’m very pleased to be able to keep
him in the fold.”
 
Sheppard a native of Narragansett, RI graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1987.  He then worked at several New England radio station including WXLO in Worcester and WKRI in Providence before making the jump to Boston in 1994
when he was hired by Metro Networks. . A year later he was named Sports Director.   Sheppard joined WEEI in February of 1995 doing sports flashes on weekends.  In 1997, he was given his own talk show with Jon Wallach.  Sheppard has been working on “The
Big Show” for 8 years.
