WEEI.com Reaches One Million Unique Visitors During October 2010

(Boston, November 3, 2010) – WEEI.com, the website of the nation’s top rated sports radio station WEEI-AM, saw its total number of unique visitors in October 2010 surpass the one million mark, an all-time high for the website.    Since it dramatically expanded online content beginning in May 2008, WEEI.com has seen its unique visitors skyrocket from 201,059 to over 1,000,000 in October 2010 according to Onestat.com.

During the month of October, WEEI.com saw its total page views increase to over 5.6 million, an increase of approximately 225% since May 2008.  Additionally users have flocked to the expanded WEEI content available to them by non-traditional means such as their mobile devices, as WEEI mobile Apps and Websites saw 95,000 unique visitors in October 2010.  (source:  Localytics and PercentMobile)

In addition to offering WEEI’s streaming and OnDemand audio content, Online Editor Rob Bradford and his staff of   journalists highlight WEEI’s commitment to offering the most credible, informative and entertaining content on the Boston sports scene.  Their aggressive expansion of digital content to include breaking news and commentary in the form of blogs, video, and audio-on-demand with a user-friendly layout has created significant increases in total visits and engagement. 

The statistics show the following increases:

•    Referral visits from search engines & links from other sites increased from 167,500 in May 2008 to 710,000 in October 2010, an increase of 323% (Onestat)
•    Time-shifted audio on demand plays increased from 80,548 in May 2008 to 572,348 in October 2010, an increase of 615% (RAMP)
•    Online audio streaming increased from 39,742 in May 2008 to 121, 322 in October 2010, an increase of 205% (Ando)
