Mark Teixeira scolds Aaron Judge for trolling Red Sox: You 'have no rings'

Hey, somebody on “Get Up!” actually had a strong opinion about something! On Wednesday’s broadcast, former Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira ripped Aaron Judge for blaring “New York, New York” on a boombox outside the Red Sox’ clubhouse following Game 2, where the Yanks lit up David Price for three runs in less than two innings of work.

According to Teixeira, Judge needlessly poked the Red Sox, who went on to outscore the Bombers 20-4 in two wins at Yankees Stadium to wrap up the ALDS.

“You woke a sleeping giant,” Teixeira said, per the New York Post. “Aaron Judge has no rings. And I have a ton of respect for Aaron Judge, I think he will have rings. But when you boast — when you wake a sleeping giant in Boston — on your way out back to Yankee Stadium and then get your butts kicked two games in a row, I just think that you might want to let your bat do the talking. Because Aaron Judge’s bat will talk.”

The Yankees’ offense was anemic in the final two games of the series, going 10-for-68 after Gary Sanchez’s home run off Eduardo Rodriguez in Game 2. Judge, who homered in both contests at Fenway Park, went 1-for-7 in the Bronx.

In response to Judge, the Red Sox played Frank Sinatra’s classic hit in their clubhouse Tuesday night. The trolling was apparently Dustin Pedroia’s idea.

"When Dustin brought it up, I said, 'Well, they know it happened,'" Cora told reporters afterwards, via WEEI’s John Tomase. "I don't know if they took it personal, but it's just, I don't know, if we played 'Dirty Water' at Yankee Stadium, and they would have clinched in Fenway, they would have played 'Dirty Water' in their clubhouse.”
