A Red Sox fan was killed on his way home from Yankee Stadium Wednesday while trying to climb his way onto the top of a train, NBC10 Boston reports.

Michael Vigeant, 24, was electrocuted during the act. The car on Metro-North was heading from Yankee Stadium to New Haven, Conn. His brother also attempted to get on top of the train, but was safely removed by officials.

The train stopped due to power issues, according to Boston.com. That’s when Vigeant tried his life-stopping stunt, where he came into contact with the overhead wires.

"The train came to a stop, and after a while the conductor came through looking very nervous, asking if there were any doctors or nurses on board," a passenger told the New Hampshire Union-Leader. "A woman who said she was a nurse went running past me. She was gone for about 40 minutes then came back looking pretty shaken, saying a man had climbed on top of the train and and was electrocuted.”
