One of the suspects involved in the David Ortiz shooting remains at large, according to TMZ. The suspected getaway driver, identified as Eddy Feliz Garcia, was arrested late Sunday and remains in police custody. Authorities are still looking for the gunman who rode with Garcia to the bar on a motor bike.

Purported video from the bar shows the gunman approaching Ortiz from behind before firing a shot into his lower back. Garcia was cornered and beaten shortly after exiting the bar, per video footage posted on social media. Police have confirmed Garcia is the man in the viral videos.

Ortiz underwent six hours of surgery following the shooting, and is currently in intensive care. He has been cleared to travel back to Boston once the Red Sox’ plane is ready to make the trip.

“Doctors say that David is out of danger, thank God,” Ortiz’s father Leo said, via the New York Daily News. “What they have told me post-op is that the doctors believe he will recover quickly.”

While none of Ortiz’s major organs were harmed, doctors had to remove his gallbladder and control bleeding from his liver and bowel. He was on the operating table until past 3:00 a.m.
