The Donald Trump-Bill Belichick bromance appears to be going strong. President Trump will appoint the Patriots’ head coach to his Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, per Axios. The group, which prioritized nutrition during the Obama administration, will reportedly focus on encouraging kids to play sports.

Several all-time great athletes are expected to join in the council alongside Belichick, including Mariano Rivera, Herschel Walker, golfer Natalie Gulbis and three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor. Dr. Oz will part of the committee, too, despite his long history of promoting junk science, such as when he dedicated an entire show to reparative therapy for homosexuals.

Trump frequently touted Belichick’s support on the campaign trail and they reportedly still keep in touch. Recently, Trump phoned Belichick to ask about Tom Brady’s status for the upcoming season, according to the New York Times. (Interestingly enough, Brady will not be part of the council. That White House snub must still sting.)

On the night before the election, Trump read an endorsement letter from Belichick at a New Hampshire rally. “I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable,” the letter said. “Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again.”

In 2015, Trump said Belichick hugged and kissed him on the Patriots’ sideline during a game.
