Eric Rowe shuts down Twitter troll way better than he's ever shut down a receiver

Patriots cornerback Eric Rowe struggles when it comes to shutting down receivers. But he can certainly handle Twitter trolls.

Rowe celebrated his 26th birthday Tuesday, which the Patriots acknowledged with a tweet from their official account. The nice message prompted a random user to lambast Rowe, because nothing on Twitter can be positive. It all must be negative and mean-spirited.

“F— Eric Rowe I seen what u did in the SB, trash,” the person said.

Rowe, who last tweeted in April, decided to respond to the user. He did it with aplomb. “If it makes you and half the fans personally feel better to trash me, please let it all out. At the end of the day, I'm 26 years old with the best job in the world with the best team and the rest of my life set up. Negative comments have no effect towards me. Let it all out,” he tweeted, adding a smiley face for good measure.

It’s been a rough stretch for Rowe, who struggled mightily in the Super Bowl and hasn’t played for two weeks after a rough performance against Jacksonville in Week 2. Maybe some Twitter hate is what he needs to spark him.
