FS1's Rob Parker falsely claims Patriots beat writers are tweeting about Tom Brady's 'knuckleballs'

It’s not surprising that Tom Brady hater Rob Parker is taking a prolonged victory lap in the aftermath of TB12’s atrocious effort against the Titans Sunday. On Twitter, Parker referred to Brady as the L.O.A.T. –– get it?!?! –– and reminded his faithful followers that “no one defeats Father Time.”

Original stuff.

But on FS1 Tuesday, Parker took his Brady antagonism to new levels. In order to accentuate his argument about Brady’s decline, the talking head claimed Patriots beat writers are tweeting constantly about the “knuckleballs” Brady is supposedly now tossing down the field.

“Go read the tweets from the beat writers –– not a hack on Fox Sports 1 watching on the weekends,” Parker said on Colin Cowherd’s show. “I’m talking about the guys who are there week in and week out. Read their tweets. They’re saying Tom Brady is throwing knuckleballs down field –– that the ball is not getting there. These are the guys who are there every day. I respect those beat guys, because they see it.”

A Twitter search of the terms “Tom Brady knuckleballs” and “Brady knuckleballs” show Parker is lying. The only person who mentioned Brady’s “knuckleballs” Sunday is Twitter user “TDizzle_93,” who is almost certainly not a Patriots beat writer.

The Big Lead’s Henry McKenna referenced Brady’s “knuckleballs” on Tuesday, but only in rebuttal to Parker.

There’s no reason to make up anecdotes to support an argument about Brady’s declining play this season. You could cite his recent struggles against the blitz –– 44.8 completion percentage over the last five weeks –– or the fact he’s 16th in quarterback rating among qualified starters. Or, Parker could even point to specific bad throws in the Titans game, such as Brady yanking the ball to James White on third down.

But “knuckleballs?” Sorry, Rob. No such thing.
