It might be a few days before Celtics forward Jaylen Brown returns to the court. The Celtics announced Friday Brown has been placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol following his brutal fall in Thursday’s victory over the Timberwolves. The 2016 first-round pick fell on his head and neck after attempting to hang onto the rim to conclude a breakaway dunk.

Brown left the court under his own power. He tweeted an update on his status early Friday morning. “Appreciate everybody I'm ok .. Got a headache tho  good team win !!,” he wrote.

The NBA concussion protocol states a player can’t return to the floor until he is without concussion-related symptoms and has been evaluated by a physician. Forward Al Horford was placed in concussion protocol earlier this season and missed two games.
