Last time we saw Jaylen Brown, he was schooling lesser NBA players at the Atlanta pro-am league. This weekend, we caught another glimpse of the rising Celtics star, except this time he was facing off against a Hall of Famer.

Tracy McGrady, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this year, recently took on Brown in a game of one-on-one. The slickly edited video shows tons of highlights from the matchup.

Brown, 21, averaged 14.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season. His play elevated in the playoffs, where he averaged 18 points per contest in Kyrie Irving’s absence. Along with Jayson Tatum, Brown became one of the Celtics’ most reliable scorers.

While it’s foolish put much stock into one video of Brown playing one-on-one with McGrady, it does seem as if Brown is dedicating at least some of his offseason to improving his game. Sometimes, the fear is that young players who become overconfident. It’s apparent Brown isn’t suffering from any overconfidence at all.

The atmosphere that Brad Stevens has created extends far past the Celtics’ facilities.
