With the Red Sox heading to London on Wednesday evening for a weekend pair with the New York Yankees, Alex Cora gave some updates on roster plans on Wednesday morning ahead of the trip.

Boston is afforded a 26th man for the weekend, and Sam Travis, currently at Triple-A Pawtucket, will fill that spot. Pitcher Hector Velazquez, who’s dealt with a back problem on and off for the last couple of weeks, will make the trip but will not be activated.

Brock Holt will also be on the plane to London after leaving Sunday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays with tightness in his left hamstring after he tried to score from second on a single in the second inning. Cora is hopeful that Holt will be ready to go for Saturday.

Catcher Oscar Hernandez will be part of the taxi squad, with the Red Sox only carrying two catchers on the 25-man roster.

First baseman Steve Pearce, still rehabbing in Pawtucket, will not be activated for the London Series.
