Continuing his transition to a new role as a reliever, Tanner Houck hit his first real bump in the road with Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday, getting roughed up to the tune of five hits and two earned runs in an inning and a third of work.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Houck hadn't allowed a run in his first four appearances out of the bullpen for the PawSox, as well as only one hit, before a rough sixth inning ended his scoreless streak.

Pawtucket got to the eighth with a one-run lead, but Travis Lakins had some real struggles of his own, giving up four earned runs in his inning of work as he picked up his second blown save of the season. His ERA balloned to 4.81, as the right-hander has struggled for most of his time in Pawtucket.

Loubier shelled in debut

Another Red Sox pitching prospect, 2019 draft pick Blake Loubier,  made his professional debut in the Gulf Coast League on Sunday and got rocked, giving up three earned runs on three hits and a walk in just a third of an inning. His ERA after his debut is a frightening 40.50, a product of a very short first outing.
