For the second time in three weeks, the Patriots will be without a key contributor due to the birth of a child as running back James White will reportedly miss today’s contest against the Jets.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Linebacker Kyle Van Noy missed opening night against the Steelers for the birth of his son.

There had been some speculation that White might actually be absent last Sunday in Miami with his wife expecting. The running back not only made the trip, but played and scored a touchdown against the Dolphins.

Now, though, ESPN reports that White will be absent against New York. New England has plenty of depth in the backfield with Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead, Brandon Bolden and maybe even a chance for rookie third-round pick Damien Harris to be active for the first time.
