With running back Rex Burkhead (foot), safety Patrick Chung (heel) and special teamer Nate Ebner (groin) ruled out on Saturday afternoon for Sunday’s game in Washington, that made up the bulk of the notable inactives for the Patriots against the Redskins.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The rest of the list, healthy scratches announced late Saturday morning, included backup quarterback Cody Kessler, rookie running back Damien Harris, backup offensive lineman Korey Cunningham and rookie defensive lineman Byron Cowart.

Maybe most notable in the group is Harris, who’s unable to crack the game day roster despite Burkhead’s absence. The third-round pick Harris has been active for just one game this season, Week 3 against the Jets at Gillette Stadium when James White was inactive due to the birth of a child. Harris has yet to record a rush or a reception this season.

Cowart is inactive for the second straight week and third time this season. Cunningham is a healthy scratch for the third straight week and fourth time overall. As the third-string QB, Kessler has been inactive for each of the two games he’s been a member of the New England roster.
