Michael Adams, who starred at Boston College in the early 1980s and went on to play in the NBA, was named an assistant coach at St. Bonaventure, under former BC teammate Mark Schmidt. Adams was an assistant at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C., last season, following two years as an assistant under Gary Williams at Maryland. Adams, a Hartford native, played 11 seasons in the NBA. He led the league in 3-pointers two years and made at least one 3-pointer in 79 straight games, the second-longest streak of all-time. Adams was head coach of the WNBA's Washington Mystics in 2004. Schmidt, who recently completed his third season guiding the Bonnies, is a North Attleboro native and 1985 BC grad. St. Bonaventure went 15-16 last season, 7-9 in the Atlantic-10 Conference.
