With the NBA draft just over 24 hours away, it’s rumored the Danny Ainge and company might be trying to make a splash.

Ryen Russillo tweeted Wednesday morning the C’s, along with the Clippers, are two of the most aggressive teams trying to break into the top 10 of Thursday's draft.

While this news may come as a surprise to some, this year’s draft is loaded with talented big men. The Celtics have had their share of rebounding issues in the last few seasons and their frontcourt is not getting any younger, this problem is amplified if Aron Baynes leaves as a free agent this summer. If Ainge ends up making a move into the top 10, it very well may be to add some youth at the four or five position.

As it stands right now, the Celtics have just one selection between the two rounds at pick No. 27. They could also hypothetically offer the Kings’ 2019 first-round pick (protected for No. 1) and future picks from the Clippers and Grizzlies. On top of that, the C’s are loaded with young talent that may sweeten any offer.

The Clippers own picks No. 12 (from Detroit) and their own pick at No. 13, but could also possibly offer up pieces like Tobias Harris in any trade.
