According to a source familiar with the negotiations, the Bruins are at least beginning to budge regarding the issue of term as it relates to Loui Eriksson'€™s next contract. After Boston offered three years in its first contract proposal in December, term has been the key issue discussed for the 30-year-old winger, who is in the final year of his contract. More recently, the Bruins have offered Eriksson more years than they did in their initial three-year proposal. It remains unclear whether the Bruins and Eriksson will be able to agree on a new contract ahead of Monday'€™s trade deadline. If they can'€™t, the Bruins are open to trading the player. Eriksson, who currently carries a $4.25 million cap hit, is seeking an average annual value of between the high $5 million range and high $6 million range on a long-term contract. Eriksson is in his third season with the Bruins. The only player to skate in all 61 of Boston's games this season, Eriksson is second on the Bruins with 23 goals on the season, which is the sixth 20-goal campaign of his career. The versatile winger is on pace for 31 goals, which would be the second-highest total of his career.
