Eagles Break Through - Game Delayed Again

September 19, 2009 - 12:29 pm
Boston College has finally broken the spell. Justin Tuggle has put the Eagles on the board with a 13 yard completion to Justin Jarvis early in the fourth quarter to make the score Clemson 19 Boston College 7. Rightfully enough, the score was set up by the defense. Clemson, starting at their own 8 yard line after a short punt by Ryan Quigley pinned them deep, turned the ball over on a fumble recovery by sophomore cornerback Donnie Fletcher. Boston College would not waste the opportunity as Tuggle floated a pass to a wide open Jarvis for the score. The Eagles attempted an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff though were penalized for being offsides after a review of the play. After announcing the review game officials also said that the game will be further delayed because of more lightning in the Clemson area. The delay lasted 48 minutes. Clemson added yet another Richard Jackson field goal after play resumed to make the score 22-7 Tigers.
