Jake DeBrusk had a big game Wednesday against the Flames in China despite some unforeseen circumstances.

“I don’t know what they call it here, but he had the runs,” Cassidy said to reporters via Amalie Benjamin when asked why DeBrusk needed to leave the game, but returned at the end. “Several bathroom breaks in a row.”

The Bruins forward recorded two goals in the 3-1 win and finished the trip with three total.

“He's growing as a player," said Cassidy. "We used him on the PK the other night, a little bit tonight. He's a little more conscientious in that area, aware. A year under his belt, not surprised. But lots of pace to his game, good finish in tight. He showed a lot of that the second half of last year so good growth."

DeBrusk is heading into his second season with the B’s and during his first full season he exceeded expectations by tallying 43 points (16 goals, 27 assists) in 70 games.

Based on what we've seen so far, it could be another big year.
