For the fifth time in six years, the Red Sox have advanced to the postseason on the strength of a 5-4 win over the Indians. Jonathan Papelbon, who came under scrutiny in recent weeks for his pitch selection and performance, had positively electric stuff, striking out a pair of Indians on explosive four-seam fastballs up in the zone, before finalizing the contest by getting Victor Martinez to fly to short. Ten pitches, eight strikes, four outs, one ticket to the postseason.
