Thursday Red Sox Farm Report: Brandon Workman throws 2 scoreless innings; Tzu-Wei Lin goes 5-for-5

Here is a look at what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Wednesday. 

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (34-35): L, 6-3 vs. Lehigh Valley

-- After giving up seven runs in his last outing, Marcus Walden bounced back by throwing six innings, allowing one run, four hits and two walks with six strikeouts. The righty is 6-3 with a 2.93 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.

-- Brandon Workman came into the game to pitch the seventh and eighth innings. Workman threw 23 of his 31 pitches for strikes. The righty gave up just one hit, while striking out four.

-- Ryan Court hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third. Court finished the game 2-for-2 with two walks.

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (31-36): W, 4-2 at Erie

-- Tzu-Wei Lin was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with a double, a triple and two runs scored. Lin is hitting .299/.379/.461.

-- Jeremy Barfield, Henry Urrutia and Mike Olt each went 2-for-5 with a RBI.

-- Trey Ball got the start and the southpaw threw five innings, allowing one run, seven hits, three walks with seven strikeouts.

-- Williams Jerez picked up with win after throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, while striking out three.

HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (40-29): All-Star Break



-- Starter Enmanuel De Jesus threw four innings allowing three runs, six hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

-- In relief of De Jesus, Ryan Oduber threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

-- Yomar Valentin was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, a walk and a run scored.
