Thursday Red Sox Farm Report: Michael Chavis hits home runs in back-to-back games

Here is a look at what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Wednesday.

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (57-59): W, 6-5 vs. Charlotte  

-Justin Haley struck out a career-high 10 batters in 6 2/3 innings, allowing three runs, five hits and no walks. Haley’s 10 strikeouts are tied for the most by a PawSox pitcher this season.

-Brian Bogusevic led the PawSox offense by going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run. Bogusevic has hit safely in 10 of the last 11 games. The right fielder is 18-for-43 (.419) during that stretch.  

-Bryce Brentz was 1-for-3 with a run, two RBIs and a walk. Brentz has eight RBIs in the last three games.

-In relief of Haley, Scott threw 1 1/3 innings, allowing no runs, one hit and one walk.

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (55-58): W, 9-4 at Richmond

-Teddy Stankiewicz picked up his first win since July 1 after going 6 2/3 innings, giving up four runs, eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

-For the second game in a row Michael Chavis launched a home run. Chavis was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run. Chavis now has 12 home runs with Portland.

-Portland has a home run in 16 straight games.

-Mike Olt was 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs.

-Josh Tobias was 1-for-5 with a three-run double.

HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (65-50): L, 3-2 vs. Buies Creek

-Roniel Raudes threw five innings, allowing two runs, six hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

-Jordan Betts was 2-for-4 with a home run.

SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (64-50): W, 6-1 at Kannapolis

-Hildemaro Requena went six innings, allowing just one run, five hits and one walk with three strikeouts. In 28 games (four starts), Requena is 7-3 with a 2.69 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. In those four starts, Requena has only allowed three runs.

-Ryan Scott was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

SHORT-SEASON A LOWELL SPINNERS (22-25): L, 7-2 vs. Tri-City

-Nick Duron went four innings, throwing four runs, four hits and two walks with six strikeotus.

-Marino Campana was 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI.
