The Red Sox are the best team in baseball and Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez are their two best hitters, so it should be no surprise that they've been given positions of prominence in the American League All-Star lineup.

Betts will bat leadoff for A.J. Hinch's AL squad, with Martinez slotting in at cleanup. They're two worthy choices, given their MVP starts.

Betts leads the AL in average (.359), slugging (.691) and OPS (1.139). He's also seventh in homers (23) and fourth in steals (18).

Meanwhile, Martinez is batting .328 with a league-leading 29 homers and 80 RBIs. His OPS of 1.037 ranks third in the AL.
