The Yankees could be without shortstop Didi Gregorius for the postseason.

Manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Gregorius tore cartilage in his right wrist sliding into home plate with the winning run in Saturday's victory over the Orioles.

Gregorius will receive a cortisone shot and be reevaluated, but the fear is that he is done for the season. The 28-year-old is hitting .268 with a career-high 27 home runs to go along with 86 RBIs.

After dropping Sunday's game to the Orioles, the Yankees lead the A's for the right to host the AL wild card game by just one game, with Oakland still playing in Minnesota.
