ESPN: NBA players believe Celtics make best free agent pitches

Remember when free agents didn't want to come to Boston because of the weather or the social scene or whatever other reason you can think of? Those days are gone.

ESPN polled 48 NBA players on a variety of topics recently -- most having to do with LeBron James' impending free agency -- but one of the questions should qualify as a pleasant surprise to Celtics fans.

Asked which team makes the best pitches in free agency, a survey-high 27 percent of respondents chose Boston.

"Boston," said one Eastern Conference guard. "If you bring Tom Brady? That's pretty damn cool."

Brady, of course, accompanied the team on its pitch to woo forward Kevin Durant two years ago before he signed with the Warriors.

The Heat (15 percent), Lakers (12), and Warriors (9) followed, with the Clippers, Grizzlies, Hornets, Knicks, Mavericks, Pacers, Rockets, Spurs, and Wizards also receiving votes.

The Celtics are probably done shopping in the high-rent district for the time being, thanks to max contracts signed the last two offseasons by Al Horford and Gordon Hayward, respectively, but it's nice to know Boston is thought of so highly.
