The Red Sox are reportedly interested in Cardinals closer Bud Norris.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Red Sox and Rockies have inquired on Norris, a 33-year-old veteran who has already saved a career-high 20 games this year.

Norris is pitching on a one-year deal, $3 million deal. He's 3-3 with 20 saves and a 3.14 ERA while averaging a career high in strikeout rate (11.5) and a career-low in walk rate (1.7).

The Cardinals sit eight games out of first place in the NL Central, in fourth place, and recently fired manager Mike Matheny. They're sixth in the wild card standings and on the verge of becoming sellers.

Norris is well-traveled. His next team will be his eighth, and he hasn't spent consecutive seasons in the same organization since 2014-15 with the Orioles. Lifetime he's 67-87 in 335 appearances (188 starts) with a 4.45 ERA.

He hold extreme reverse splits this year, with lefties batting only .180 vs. him, while righties have hit .310 with an .851 OPS.
