The Yankees keep adding pieces.

According to Jon Heyman of Fancred, the Yankees on Monday night acquired right-hander Lance Lynn from the Twins for outfielder/first baseman Tyler Austin and minor league right-hander Luis Rijo.

Lynn is a former 18-game winner and All-Star in St. Louis who has struggled in Minnesota this year, going 7-8 with a 5.10 ERA.

He owns quite a bit of postseason experience, however. He is 5-4 with a 4.50 ERA in 24 playoff appearances, including a start and loss in Game 4 of the 2013 World Series to the Red Sox. He left that game with two outs and two on in the sixth inning of a 1-1 game before Jonny Gomes' game-winning three-run homer off reliever Seth Maness.

As for Austin, his claim to fame locally is getting hit by a Joe Kelly fastball and starting an April brawl that reignited the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry.
