The Phillies have claimed former Red Sox reliever Dalier Hinojosa off waivers and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, according to the News-Journal of Delaware. Hinojosa, 29, signed with the Red Sox out of Cuba in 2013 for a bonus of $4.25 million. In two seasons at Triple-A Pawtucket, Hinojosa went 6-6 with a 3.56 ERA. He made one appearance in the big leagues, joining the Red Sox in May and throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings against the Yankees with three walks and two strikeouts. His issue throughout the minors has been command. He has walked 4.3 batters per nine innings, though he's got some power to his game, with 104 strikeouts in 103 2/3 innings.
