The Red Sox will introduce Alex Cora as their next manager on Monday at noon from the Fenway Park, the teamm announced.

Cora, 42, arrives with some good karma. As bench coach, he just helped lead the Houston Astros to their first World Series title. His old team is holding a victory parade today. His new team must fill out his coaching staff and begin the search for an offseason power bat, which Dave Dombrowski described as a priority on Thursday in a conference call announcing the hire of Hall of Fame manager Tony La Russa as a special assistant.

Cora was hired to replace John Farrell, who was fired last month after leading the Red Sox to 93 wins and their second straight AL East title.

Cora played for the Red Sox from 2005-08 as part of a 14-year career as a utility infielder.
