That moment when all of New England caught its collective breath occurred in the second half of Sunday’s shocking loss to the Dolphins, when Patriots quarterback Tom Brady briefly crumpled to the field to grab his left knee.

Making his weekly appearance on Mut & Callahan on Monday morning, Brady explained the equipment malfunction that led to that scary moment, but also acknowledged he’s battling a minor injury.

“I think my knee brace just grabbed it and it just got dug into the wrong spot,” Brady told the show. “There’s no concern.”

Though the CBS broadcast did a terrible job of showing what happened, locally, Ch. 4’s Joe Giza tweeted a video of Brady beginning to jog off the field before collapsing to the turf and adjusting his brace. He began to signal for the trainers before apparently fixing the problem himself, rising to his feet and half jogging, half limping to the sidelines.

He remained in the game and was outstanding, throwing for over 350 yards and three touchdowns.

Brady noted that, “I’ve been dealing with a little injury” that required his knee to be “braced up.”

“It twisted the wrong way,” he said. “But like I said, I have zero concern. Zero.”
