Report: Red Sox among 15 teams on Zack Greinke's no-trade list

Zack Greinke was willing to join the Red Sox in free agency in 2015, but they instead convinced David Price to sign for $217 million.

Now he's got them on his no-trade list.

Boston's pursuit of the Diamondbacks All-Star right-hander likely would've fallen under the category of "unlikely" anyway, given the $104.5 million remaining on the final three years of his deal, as well as Greinke's age (35).

But according to Zach Buchanan of The Athletic, the Red Sox are one of 15 teams on Greinke's no-trade list, alongside the Orioles, Reds, Rockies, Tigers, Yankees, Athletics, Padres, Giants, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Angels, Dodgers, Twins and Phillies.

Greinke remains effective. He has made the last two All-Star teams while posting ERAs of 3.20 and 3.21, and he just won his fifth Gold Glove.

He was in talks to join the Red Sox in 2015 right up until they signed Price, so it's unclear what changed as far as the no-trade goes, but if the D'backs -- run by former Red Sox executive Mike Hazen -- decide to move him, it probably won't be to Boston.
