The Red Sox have some influential celebrities in their corner.

Rapper Cardi B, who is from The Bronx, revealed she is a Red Sox fan after the team beat the Yankees on Tuesday night to advance to the ALCS.

Cardi explained why she is a fan of the team in a video posted to Instagram by David Ortiz himself.

That’s my girl Red Sox for life ---- @iamcardib

“My father, he’s a Red Sox fan. My grandfather’s a Red Sox fan,” the rapper and new mom explained. “It runs in my blood.”

Lil Wayne also voiced his support for the team throughout the ALDS on Twitter with his enthusiastic “Let’s go Red Sox” tweets.

The rapper has been an Ortiz fan and friend for years and posed with Ortiz after the World Series win in 2013.

So you can credit the fairy dust ladies with the Red Sox’ win, but I think the support from these two had more to do with it.
