July is a slow month in sports and ESPN is using this time to broadcast more unconventional sports, like drone racing.

And cornhole.

ESPN2 aired the Championship of Bags last weekend and people actually watched it. So many, in fact, that the ratings for this broadcast in the 18-49 demo were higher than those of MLB on FS1 and TBS on Saturday.

“In 18-49, Saturday's Cornhole on ESPN2 earned a larger audience than weekend's MLB on FS1 and TBS, WNBA ASG, final stage of Tour de France,” Sports Media Watch tweeted.

“Between that and Drone Racing (which beat IndyCar/F1 in A18-49 a few weeks back) some interesting stuff going on with smaller sports,” another Sports Media Watch tweet read.

The total audience for the cornhole broadcast was over 300,000.
