Donald Trump considers Tom Brady a friend but it sounds like he wishes the Patriots quarterback could have become family.

Trump reportedly joked that he '"could have had Tom Brady" as a son-in-law but “instead I got Jared Kushner,” according to a New York Times article published on Saturday.

The president’s ex-wife Ivana wrote in her 2017 book, “Raising Trump,” that Trump once tried to set their daughter Ivanka up with Brady.

“At one point, Donald wanted her to date Tom Brady, the quarterback. He said, ‘You have to meet him!’ But Ivanka wasn’t into it,” Ivana wrote.

It was rumored that Brady and Ivanka actually did go on a date after former White House press secretary Anthony Scaramucci told TMZ last year that Brady’s wife, Gisele, did not want Brady to travel to the White House with the Patriots.
