-- Kyrie Irving is wishing Zion Williamson well after he was injured when his sneaker fell apart during a game between Duke and UNC on Wednesday.

Williamson suffered a right knee strain from the fall and Irving is hoping he “stays resilient.”

“Now it’s just, instead of worrying about the injury and what he has to deal with, it just becomes about his future, all the questions that are asked,’’ Irving said. “So, you know, just hope he stays resilient and knows what’s important, and that’s him and his family. It’s unfortunate, especially just the situation that happened, blown out of his shoe completely. It’s not really common when you see things like that. It’s just unfortunate, especially on a big-time game like that.’’

Barack Obama, who was in the crowd for the game, also wished him well.

And Nike is scrambling to figure out exactly what went wrong.

"We are obviously concerned and want to wish Zion a speedy recovery," Nike said. "The quality and performance of our products are of utmost importance. While this is an isolated occurrence, we are working to identify the issue."

Nike’s stock even dropped on Thursday and Puma took a shot at the brand on Twitter before later deleting the tweet.

-- The charity auction for Julian Edelman’s beard trimmings closes on Friday and the current bid is $3,500.

The proceeds from the auction for the bag of Edelman’s beard hair go to the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.

According to the auction’s page on CharityBuzz, the winner will also receive “a photograph of the trim in progress, autographed by Ellen DeGeneres.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “It’s a video of me and one of my best friends talking. And then it turns out to be a dissection of a free agency meeting? Do you get that? Like, do you get that? And then I’m asked questions about that? That’s what disconnects me from all that s***.” -- Kyrie Irving, on the media analyzing the video of his All-Star Game talk with Kevin Durant
