AROUND THE WEB:

-- Kyrie Irving signed a deal with the Nets on Sunday and Torey Krug called out Irving for leaving the Celtics by reminding everyone of what Irving said about the team back in October.

Krug quote-tweeted a post from the Celtics showing Irving saying, “If you guys will have me back, I plan on re-signing here next summer.”

The Bruin added a “furrowed eyebrows wearing a monocle” emoji along with another face emoji, as it is now next summer and Kyrie ended up signing with another team.

-- The Mets honored the 1969 World Series Champion team this weekend with a special ceremony celebrating the players on Saturday. And in typical Mets fashion, they made some glaring errors.

During the We Remember portion of the ceremony, the Mets included Jim Gosger and Jesse Hudson on the scoreboard remembrances of 1969 players who have passed away. Both Gosger and Hudson are still alive.

Gosger posted about the error on Facebook, confirming he is, in fact, still alive.

“WOW LOOK AT ME I MADE THE BIG BOARD ...THANK YOU N.Y. METS FOR BRINGING ME BACK,” Gosger wrote.

The Mets then apologized for the errors on Sunday.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "There is no excuse for it. That was an unacceptable performance, especially where we are. The need for pitching, to go deep into games against a team we have to beat. I take full responsibility for it. I need to be better." -- Rick Porcello, on his start in London on Saturday
