-- A new survey found Boston-area sports fans are the most annoying in the nation.

Insight Pest Solutions conducted a Which Sports Fans Bug You the Most? survey of 13,500 people and found “a Boston-based team was voted as one of the three most annoying in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL."

About 35% of voters said Patriots fans were the most obnoxious fans in the NFL, followed by Cowboys fans at 13.34% and Eagles fans at 9%.

As for the NBA, Celtics fans came in third as the most annoying at 12.16%, with Warriors fans coming in second at 23.81%. Lakers fans came in first at 33.79%.

Yankees fans are the most obnoxious MLB fans but Red Sox fans are close behind them at 20.77%.

Finally, Bruins fans topped the most annoying list in the NHL at 19.74%, with Penguins fans at 14.09% and Maple Leafs fans at 10.93%.

-- A 76-year-old Connecticut man is walking from Yankee Stadium to Fenway Park to promote peace.

Al Forte started his pilgrimage at Grand Central Terminal in New York City on Aug. 4. From there he walked to Yankee Stadium to officially begin his 200-mile journey.

“I’m doing this to spread the message of praying for peace,” he told the Providence Journal. “If we pray for peace, there will be peace, first in ourselves, then our families, then our cities, our country and the world.”

Forte, a former Brooklyn Dodgers fan, said he walks every day, even in the rain, but does not walk if there are thunderstorms.

One of his friends picks him up each night and takes him to a hotel to sleep, then drives him back to where he left off in the morning to continue his walk.

Forte plans to arrive at Fenway Park in time for the game between the Red Sox and Yankees on Friday night.
