-- What do Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld have in common?

Colin Cowherd put together a link between the two duos during his FS1 show on Wednesday, saying Belichick was not able to be the genius he is until he teamed up with Brady.

“Belichick is as close to a football genius as we’ve ever had,” he began. “Geniuses are not good mentors … Bill Belichick is not a great mentor.”

“Belichick wasn’t Belichick until he found the perfect quarterback who was as driven as him, as focused as him, as aspirational as him, as tough on himself as him,” Cowherd said. “Belichick didn’t work. He didn’t work in Cleveland and he was 5-11 in Green Bay. Belichick is a lot like comedic genius … Larry David. Larry David was a failed stand-up comic … and then he met his Tom Brady. His Tom Brady was Jerry Seinfeld.”

-- Isaiah Thomas and Jonas Jerebko reminisced about the Celtics’ 2017 playoff run in a nostalgia-filled tweet exchange on Tuesday.

It started when Thomas responded to a tweet about the game in which he scored 29 points in the fourth quarter to get the Celtics and overtime win.

“One of the easiest games I’ve played! Was so locked in. 13hrs of mouth surgery on top of my sister passing. Hoop and my teammates was the only thing I had,” he wrote.

To which Jerebko responded:

“Without y’all there was none of that. Appreciate you family!,” Thomas wrote back.

Both players have moved on from Boston (Jerebko is with the Warriors and Thomas is with the Nuggets) but they still share the memories of that special season.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “It’s going to be an emotional environment," Brady said. "I think everyone, whenever you play some of the best teams, you want to see where you’re measured up to, and that defense has been ranked very high all last year, and I could see why.” -- Tom Brady, on the Patriots' matchup with the Jaguars in Jacksonville on Sunday after Jalen Ramsey trash-talked Rob Gronkowski
