AROUND THE WEB:

-- Jamal Adams has finally had enough of Pat Patriot.

The Jets defensive back got tired of the Patriots mascot flaunting the team’s Super Bowl rings at Pro Bowl practice on Wednesday and decided to do something about it.

After telling the crowd of fans who had been booing Pat Patriot he was going to “knock this mascot out,” Adams did just that.

Pat Patriot got the last laugh on Twitter, tweeting, “Hate us cause they ain’t us.”

-- Derek Jeter wrote a touching tribute to Mariano Rivera after Rivera was voted into the Hall of Fame this week but forgot to mention his other former teammate in this year’s class.

In his piece in the Players’ Tribune, Jeter praised Rivera, saying “more people have walked on the moon than have scored an earned run off of Mariano Rivera in the postseason.”

But when it came time to close his essay, Jeter didn’t even mention Mike Mussina, who was also selected this year.

“Congratulations Mariano, and the rest of this year’s class,” Jeter wrote.

Even Alex Rodriguez mentioned both Rivera and Mussina in his congratulations note.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “He’s still the same guy that he was when he came out of Michigan and I met him, that skinny beanpole coming down the steps with that great physique that you speak about. He’s the same person today as he was when he was fourth on the depth chart back there in 2000." -- Robert Kraft, during an appearance on Good Morning America, on Tom Brady
