-- Tim Tebow hit a two-run home run on his first day since his promotion to the high-A Port St. Lucie Mets.

Tim Tebow was promoted from the Columbia Fireflies on Sunday and is off to a good start with his new team. His homer came in the second inning of Game 2 of a double header in Wednesday. With teammate Michael Paez on first base Tebow smacked a 92 mph fastball to center field off Palm Beach Cardinals right-hander Junior Fernandez.

Tebow was 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and a walk in the two games.

"I felt good," Tebow said. "Honestly, I felt good the last couple of weeks in Columbia and tried to carry it over. Just put the bat on the ball and hit it hard. I was just thankful I could get one out tonight."

Tebow also homered in his first at-bat with the Fireflies in April.
