AROUND THE WEB:

-- Julian Edelman has been a vocal advocate on social media for Tom Brady to stay in New England and his latest Instagram post might suggest he will get to keep playing with the quarterback.

The picture Edelman posted on Monday shows Brady and Edelman photoshopped to reenact a well-known photo of LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.

“Reverse backside sweep crossbar alley-oop on 2. Readyyyy, break,” Edelman captioned the post.

Does this mean he and Brady will continue playing together next year or split up like James and Wade did?

-- Along with many other athletes, Tom Brady shared a tribute to Kobe Bryant in honor of his memorial service on Monday.

Brady posted a photo of Bryant and his daughter Gianna to his Instagram story.

Others in the sports world also paid tribute to Bryant on social media.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "You go through ups and downs in baseball and I remember my dad saying, ‘You can quit at the end of the season but you’re going to finish this out. You can play any sport you want. You can never play another sport ever again. But you started this season, you’re going to finish this season.’" -- Chris Sale, in an interview with his dad, Allen Sale, and Rob Bradford
