AROUND THE WEB:

-- Julian Edelman posted a tribute message to Chris Long on Sunday amid Long’s retirement celebration and he snuck a joke or two in the thoughtful post.

Going to miss this guy being in the league. He was Great teammate, and even better example of how to be a pro. His ability to be involved with the community is second to none. The father he is and family man he is everything! He made the game more fun. All this said, still my second favorite Long. Love ya bubs and congrats on an amazing career!

Long replied in the comments, saying, “Love u bubs. We gotta find the mask. Much respect to you. Teammates for a year but champs forever. Appreciate the kind words greatly.”

-- Tom Brady has also been engaging with Edelman on Instagram, as he left a pretty funny comment on another of his teammates photos.

Edelman posted a photo of himself on the field in a dirty uniform with the caption, “If your uniform isn’t dirty, you haven’t been in the game.”

And Brady had a cheeky response.

“I kind of prefer mine clean…,” he wrote.

To which Edelman responded, “I like yours clean also bubskee...if it ain’t I’m not doing enough.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “In New England, I learned so much about football. I always thought I was a smart player, even though I never thought about anything but the six inches in front of my face. In New England, I was forced to learn so many schematic concepts. In my career playing football, nobody asked me to do as much as Bill Belichick did.” -- Chris Long, reflecting on his time with the Patriots upon his retirement
