-- The NFL’s oldest coach looks up to the lifestyle of the league’s oldest quarterback.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, 67, told Peter King on Football Morning in America recently that he idolizes Tom Brady for his strict diet.

“Tom’s one of my heroes,” Carroll said. “The fact that he’s taken a cutting edge approach to nutrition and well-being, it just shows you you can feel okay. If we keep eating the way we’re eating, then you’re not going to feel good. You’ve got to work at it.”

“I’m basically a plant-based eater,” he continued. “My kids have helped me and my wife has helped me. We’re in it together. It’s a clean diet and it makes such a difference.”

He also said, “We are eating our way into discomfort, and there are plenty of ways to cut down on the soreness and the aching and the discomfort, but we’ve got to work at it. I think that’s what’s changed. I don’t feel old at all. I’m ready to go."

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “We love Josh. I love Josh. I’m just glad to have him back. … It’s definitely good to see him. It’s refreshing ... He’s a physical specimen. We all know that. Even from what he did last year — he helped this team out a lot. And we’re definitely hoping he can come back and do the same.” -- Phillip Dorsett, on Josh Gordon’s return
