AROUND THE WEB:

-- David Beckham and Tom Brady have many things in common and now you can add getting criticized for kissing their kids on the lips to the list.

Beckham got mixed reactions after posting a picture on Instagram of himself kissing his daughter on the lips, but Brady swooped in with praise for the photo.

Christmas is coming ---- Let’s go skate ♥️

A post shared by David Beckham (@davidbeckham) on

"Christmas is coming," Beckham captioned the photo with his daughter, Harper. "Let's go skate."

"Why are they kissing ??" one person commented. "This is not right!"

"Why are they kissing on lips ??!?!!,” another said.

But Brady saw no problem with it.

"Dad and daughter. So sweet!,” he commented.

Brady got criticism earlier this year after he was seen kissing his son Jack on the lips in an episode of Tom vs. Time.

-- The Redskins released a statement on Tuesday night after claiming Reuben Foster off waivers following his domestic violence arrest before releasing a second statement that wasn’t much different.

The first stated:

Today we have claimed the rights to LB Reuben Foster. The Redskins fully understand the severity of the recent allegations made against Reuben. If true, you can be sure these allegations are nothing our organization would ever condone. Let me be clear, Reuben will have to go through numerous steps, including the full legal process, an investigation and potential discipline from the NFL, as well as meetings with counselors associated with the team before he will ever have the opportunity to wear the Burgundy and Gold as a player. That being said, we decided to investigate the situation with Reuben further by claiming his rights after candid conversations with a number of his ex-Alabama teammates and current Redskins players who were overwhelmingly supportive of us taking this chance. Nothing is promised to Reuben, but we are hopeful that being around so many of his former teammates and friends will eventually provide him with the best possible environment to succeed both personally and professionally.

The second was seemingly to correct the misspelling of Doug Williams’ name in the headline.

Foster was waived by the 49ers on Monday after being arrested on Saturday at the team hotel in Tampa following an altercation with his former girlfriend Elissa Ennis.

The team announced just before Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers that they had waived Foster. He was released from an area jail after posting $2,000 bond later that day.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I think [his maturity has> really been a strength of his. He's, obviously, had a lot of football experience and comes from a very good program. He's been in a lot of big games. He's been in a lot of critical football situations. He has a lot of poise and has a good even manner about him in terms of learning, correcting mistakes, having urgency but in a balance where it doesn't take away from the execution and the focus of the assignment and the way that things need to be done.” -- Bill Belichick, on Sony Michel
