Luke Kuechly named finalist for Bronko Nagurski Trophy

Boston College sophomore linebacker Luke Kuechly was named Wednesday as one of five finalists for the 2010 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which the Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club award to the nation's top defensive player of the season. Kuechly, who had a career-high 21 tackles in Saturday's win over Duke, leads the nation with 14.6 tackles per game. He also has two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and nine tackles for loss. The four other finalists are: Clemson end Da'Quan Bowers, Auburn tackle Nick Fairley, Georgia linebacker Justin Houston and LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson. The winner will be announced Dec. 6 at a banquet in Charlotte.
