Anders Bjork won’t be gathering moss while Ryan Donato rejoins the Bruins’ lineup.

Bjork was assigned to Providence of the American Hockey League on Thursday a couple hours after the Bruins completed their morning skate, during which it was apparent he would be scratched for the night game against the New York Islanders.

Bjork has one goal and two assists in 20 NHL games this season. He played nine games for Providence last season after making the jump from college to the pros.

With Bjork out, Donato gets into the lineup after being called up from Providence on Wednesday. Donato skated on the left wing of a line with Joakim Nordstrom at center and Noel Acciari on right wing Thursday.

Donato had 5-4-9 totals in 10 games for Providence.

*The Bjork-Donato swap won’t be the only Bruins lineup change against the Islanders. Sean Kuraly will get back in after being healthy scratched the previous game for the first time this season. Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson will sit out.

*Brandon Carlo had hoped to return from his upper-body injury but will miss the Islanders game, his ninth straight game out of the lineup. With Carlo not ready to return and Kevan Miller out with his throat injury, Steven Kampfer will return to the lineup after sitting out the past three games while healthy.

*Tuukka Rask starts in net.
