David Pastrnak woke up Monday tied for the NHL lead in goals with nine.

Then the NHL rewarded the Bruins right wing for his efforts this past week by naming him its First Star, with Washington’s John Carlson the Second Star and Buffalo’s Carter Hutton the Third Star.

Pastrnak has nine goals, tied with Edmonton’s James Neal, and 15 points (fourth in the NHL) through eight games. Last week in three games he had seven goals and two assists, including his four-goal game against Anaheim.

Krejci still out

It wasn’t all celebrations for the Bruins on Monday, coming off two straight extra-time losses to division opponents. Coach Bruce Cassidy said center David Krejci (upper body) did not skate and will miss his third straight game when the Bruins try to get revenge on Toronto on Tuesday (the Maple Leafs won 4-3 in overtime on Saturday).

Cassidy, though, said Krejci is still considered day-to-day.

Joakim Nordstrom (upper body) practiced in a red no-contact jersey and it will be decided Tuesday if he’ll play or miss his second straight game. Par Lindholm also wore red but Cassidy said the center should be good to go.

Karson Kuhlman, who was hit by a Jake DeBrusk shot Saturday and missed some time before returning to the game, didn’t practice. The Bruins are hoping extra rest will make him available for Tuesday.
