Bruins captain Zdeno Chara might play in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday against the St. Louis Blues despite what the Bruins have called a “facial injury” and what our Christian Fauria reported is a broken jaw.

Chara took part in an optional morning skate Thursday (video above) and is truly displaying a warrior mentality.

But that’s not all Chara is battling through his injury to do; he also fulfilled his gameday media duties Thursday.

Unable to speak, Chara provided written responses to two questions presented to the Bruins PR staff by the PHWA.

On playing through injured he said:

"At this time of the playoffs, everyone has injuries and there are challenges that you have to overcome to play. I’m no different than any player on either team."

As for potentially risking further injury, he said:

“You don’t think about that. You think about playing. You don’t go into a game thinking you might get hurt.”

Puck drop is 8 p.m. ET.
