The Red Sox have won four of their last six games and have at least offered a glimpse at a possible turnaround. Their recent sweep of the first-place Tampa Bay Rays was a good sign, although they then followed it up with two losses to the Tigers before winning on Wednesday.

One player who deserves credit as of late is Andrew Benintendi. In the team’s last seven games, Benintendi is hitting .308 with a home run, six RBIs, and a stolen base. That one home run was a crucial opposite field grand slam off of Rays pitcher Charlie Morton on Saturday to extend the lead to 5-0 in an eventual 6-5 win. Overall, he is hitting .293 with two home runs and 12 RBIs, plus two stolen bases.

The Sox will need Benintendi, among others, to continue to hit well if they want to really make some progress toward putting the beginning of the season behind them.
